# Terms — LodgeiT Labs Review Bounty

**Bounty:** bounty-08-cgt-sb-15-year-exemption
**Prize:** AUD $900 (paid on acceptance of verdict)
**Effort estimate:** ~3 hours

---

## 1. What you agree to when you reserve this bounty

- You will read the brief, worked example, and forensic-question artefacts before you begin.
- You will submit a completed reviewer-verdict artefact within 21 days of reservation confirmation (extensions available on request; just email us).
- You will treat any non-public information supplied in the artefacts as confidential until the verdict is minted publicly.
- You will not sub-contract the substantive review work to another person without our written consent (attribution mechanics require identity of the reviewer to match).

## 2. What we agree to

- We will accept, reject, or request revision within one business day of receiving your verdict.
- Payment: within 30 calendar days of verdict acceptance, by AUD bank transfer to an Australian bank account you nominate.
- Named credit in the public reviewer registry as your default attribution posture. You may opt down at submission time (initialled or anonymous) without prize reduction.
- If we cannot accept your verdict as-submitted, we will give you a written explanation and one opportunity to revise. If revised verdict is also non-accepted, no payment is made but no reservation penalty applies — you may pick up a different bounty.

## 3. Intellectual property

- **Your verdict.** You retain your moral rights (attribution and integrity) in the reasoning you produce. You grant LodgeiT Labs a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish the verdict, cite it, hash-bind it to the calculator version you ratified, and include it in derivative educational or marketing material.
- **Our calculator.** The calculator you ratified is separately licensed as open source. Your verdict does not transfer any interest in the calculator code to you, nor does it create any warranty on your part as to the calculator's fitness for any purpose beyond the scope of the bounty question.
- **Both.** Your verdict is published under an open licence (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 by default). If you prefer a different licence, tell us at reservation time and we will discuss.

## 4. Attribution — the registry

Every accepted verdict is minted into a public reviewer registry with these fields:

- Reviewer name (or initials, or "Anonymous" per your election)
- Credential class (CA / CTA / CPA / FIPA / MIPA / TPB-Registered)
- Jurisdiction (default: Australia)
- Verdict hash (SHA-256 of your submitted document)
- Calculator version ratified
- Publication date

The registry is a public record. Once minted, it is not retractable except for narrow reasons (factual error in the identity fields, or your request for opt-down within 7 days of minting).

## 5. Payment mechanics

- **Currency:** Australian Dollars (AUD).
- **Method:** Bank transfer to Australian bank account. For international reviewers (from wave 2 onwards), we will use Wise / equivalent; you bear the currency-conversion cost.
- **GST:** If you are registered for GST and provide a valid tax invoice, we will pay GST on top of the prize (we can supply an ABN and business details for your invoice). If you are not GST-registered, the prize is inclusive.
- **Withholding:** Australian tax law may require withholding for non-quoted-ABN payments; we will apply the correct rate.
- **Timing:** Within 30 calendar days of our written verdict-acceptance notice.

## 6. What happens if we cannot use your verdict

- **Non-acceptance for scope reasons** (you addressed a different question than the one asked): we will point out the mismatch and give you one revision opportunity. No payment on non-revised or twice-non-accepted verdicts.
- **Non-acceptance for quality reasons** (reasoning is unsupported by cited authority, or contains a manifest error): we will explain in writing. Revision opportunity applies.
- **Non-acceptance because you disagree with our reference answer**: this is not a valid non-acceptance ground. If you produce a well-reasoned verdict that says our calculator is wrong, and you cite the authority for that conclusion, the verdict is accepted and paid. Your reasoning becomes the finding that drives our next engineering PR against the calculator.

## 7. Confidentiality

- The artefact bundle for the bounty is public. There is nothing confidential in the source material.
- If we supply any private context after reservation (e.g. a specific test-case scenario tailored to your credential class), you must not disclose it until the verdict is minted.
- Your verdict itself becomes public on minting; nothing in your submitted verdict is confidential (this is a design feature, not a limitation).

## 8. Dispute resolution

- First step: written correspondence between you and us. Most disputes resolve at this step.
- Second step: independent tax-technical review by a mutually-agreed third-party CA or CTA. Cost split 50/50.
- Governing law: New South Wales, Australia.

## 9. Reserving the bounty

Email `support@lodgeit.net.au` with:

- Bounty number and title
- Your name, credential class, and current registration status (active / lapsed / retired — all fine)
- One-paragraph note on why this bounty caught your eye, or your relevant background
- Your preferred attribution posture (named / initialled / anonymous)

We will confirm reservation and send you the artefact bundle within one business day.
